Over the course of my writing career, I interviewed hundreds of people, including some who had experienced intense trauma and grief. Hearing their stories and giving them a voice was incredibly meaningful for me. After two decades as a writer, I decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a therapist. In my current work, I still hear people’s stories, but now I help them find their own voice, heal old wounds, improve daily functioning, and overcome traumas and other challenges. As they develop new skills and a greater sense of self, they build new chapters in their life and feel empowered to write their own stories.
I graduated with honors from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work, as part of the Sara Schenirer cohort. During my internship, I worked at Lexington Center for Recovery in Airmont, New York, providing individual therapy and co-facilitating groups for individuals dealing with alcohol, drug, and gambling addictions. Since May 2022, I’ve been working at Achieve Behavioral Health in Monsey, New York, and later I also began seeing clients outside the clinic. I work with couples, adult women, and groups, and help clients who are struggling with complex trauma, marital difficulties, dissociation, anxiety, addictive behaviors, and other challenges.
I use a humanistic, person-centered approach and am guided by my passionate belief in the inherent value and immense potential of every individual. I am attracted to theories and modalities that support this perspective and have trained in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Intervention, and treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. When appropriate, I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients actualize their therapeutic goals.
